Bio and Experience

Jane Mathenge is a Finance Expert and Editor at Montana Capital Car Title Loans®. With over 15 years working in financial services, she reviews our content to make sure it’s accurate, clear, and actually useful for people trying to understand their options.

Jane spent eight years as a Financial Analyst at the Federal Reserve Bank of Minneapolis. In that role, she worked on credit risk assessment, evaluated applications for master accounts and mergers, and helped manage programs like the Bank Term Funding Program during COVID-19. She also collected and analyzed financial data from banks and finance companies to support monetary policy decisions at the Board of Governors level.

Before the Fed, Jane worked as a Senior Mortgage Underwriter at Wells Fargo for four years. She underwrote a wide range of loans, from jumbo mortgages for high-net-worth clients to loan modifications for borrowers facing foreclosure. She evaluated income, assets, and credit histories to structure loans that made sense for each situation while staying compliant with FHA and Fannie Mae guidelines.

She started her career at U.S. Bank as a Cash Accountant, managing cash ledgers for 100 branches and handling daily reconciliations. That hands-on experience with banking operations gave her a ground-level understanding of how financial institutions actually work.

At Montana Capital, Jane brings all of this together. She reviews articles for accuracy, checks that we’re explaining things correctly, and makes sure our content reflects how lending actually works, not just how it sounds in theory.
